Howard has been involved in real estate for over 55 years, working in a wide range of areas as vendors and purchaser’s agent, Valuer and consultant. Howard’s extensive real estate knowledge, personable manner and management skills have seen him retained as a consultant on a wide range of real estate issues. He is now working with the second and third generations of some clients.

His list of qualifications includes a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, a Diploma of Valuation of Farm Management, a Fellow and Life Member of the Real Estate Institute of NZ, an Associate of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute and an Associate of the Property Institute of New Zealand. He is also a Valuer, Registered Property Manager and Registered Property Consultant and has served as the National President of the Real Estate Institute of NZ from 2004 to 2006. In 2005 he was elected to the board of The International Consortium of Real Estate Agents (ICREA) a grouping of 39 countries and was Chairman of this board in 2011.

Howard was invited to join the board of The National Association of Realties (USA) for 2012 and is currently representing ICREA on the international committee of 19 established to develop international measurement standards for buildings.

In 2015 Howard was awarded the John Grieg Trophy – to recognise his selfless service to estate agency practice, peer recognition as an industry leader and the demonstrable qualities of a positive role model.

In early August 2018 Howard was awarded the inaugural 2018 REINZ/Rockend Recognition of Contribution to the Property Management Industry.
