Absorbing Increases in Property Management

Residential Property Management Celia Burbery discusses the recent Trade Me advertising increase and what that means for rental owners.

Today I have both good and not-so-good news to share with you as our property partners.

Last week we were advised that as from 1 December 2023 the advertising rates with Trade Me will be increasing by a minimum of $14.00 per advertisement, this increase is unfortunately less than a year since their last increase, that’s the not-so-good news.

The good news is however, despite the increase, we have made a strategic decision to absorb the increased Trade Me cost and not pass this onto you our clients as we are committed to preserving your investments wherever possible. Over the years we as a property management business have been absorbing increasing costs associated with the day-to-day requirements of property management. We recently implemented a compliance cost charged monthly to contribute to the cost requirements of compliance we have been carrying and we don’t want to burden you again so soon. Enough is enough.

While we absorb this cost, we will closely monitor the situation and re-evaluate our pricing strategy in the future when hopefully our political and financial worlds may be heading towards a more settled period. Rest assured, we will explore all avenues to ensure that our partnership remains mutually beneficial and sustainable in the long term.

We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support as we tackle adjustments together. We firmly believe that your trust in us is paramount and by absorbing costs we aim to maintain the stability and profitability of your investments. Trade Me’s price increase comes at a time when we are all facing economic uncertainties, yet we stand committed to continually providing you the highest level of service and dedication.

I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for entrusting us with your investments. Your faith in our partnership drives us to excel and overcome challenges together.

Kind regards

Celia Burbery
