Commercial Property Team Update

We are excited about the growth of our Commercial Property Management business and there have been a few updates to our team and structure in recent weeks. Meet our new Head of Commercial and learn about our plan for a south Auckland office.
Having spent many hours commuting to the city from Pukekohe over the last few years, James Bangerter is looking forward to a lifestyle change as he takes on a new role as Manager – Southern Area – Commercial with responsibility for managing commercial properties closer to where he lives. He will be exploring options for the establishment of a satellite office in South Auckland and will spearhead the growth of apm in that area. James will however still have a desk at our Grafton office and will be available to support other team members as required.
Martyn Hamilton has been appointed as our new Head of Commercial. With over 30 years of experience in all forms of commercial property, including management, sales, leasing, and syndications, Martyn is a highly experienced professional with a well-established long-term client base which has now been merged with the business of apm. Ownership of a long-established independent commercial real estate agency and property management company has given Martyn a unique and insightful perspective in both fields, invaluable to property owners. Well-known in the commercial property sector, particularly within the Parnell and city fringe areas, Martyn has a successful reputation for turning around problematic properties and ensuring their ongoing efficient and streamlined management. His extensive experience with syndications further enhances his ability to deliver tailored and effective property solutions.
The merger of Martyn’s commercial property management company with apm brings an exciting opportunity to combine his wealth of experience and industry knowledge with a growing commercial management division under the apm umbrella. In addition, Martyn has spent considerable time working in London in the real estate industry, particularly in the specialised marketing of new residential developments, further testament to his extensive and varied experience to date.
Due ongoing growth of our business, we have recently appointed Celeste Bell-Catnott to the position of Facilities Manager. Celeste has recently returned to New Zealand after 14 years of working in London and has throughout her career successfully led teams in facilities and property management within both large public and private sector organisations. She has overseen facilities for central London hospitals, multiple large office complexes and managed responsive repairs for 27,000 residential properties. Her most recent roles involved overseeing the management of historical educational institutions and accommodations for teachers. Celeste has developed strong expertise in facilities and change management, service delivery, and business process improvement. She holds qualifications in NEBOSH, Occupational Health & Safety, and the British Institute of Facilities Management.
Yavashni Chetty, who had been our Facilities Manager across both our Body Corporate and Commercial teams, has now taken on the role of Residents’ Association Manager for Kensington Park (Orewa) while still providing facilities management services to some of our Body Corporate clients.
One of our Commercial Property Managers, Garth Williams, will be leaving us on 30 June. We wish Garth all the best and acknowledge the good work he has done for his clients during his time at apm. The properties that Garth had been managing will be split geographically with Marc Kobrin taking on the properties north of Manukau and James taking on the properties from there south. Marc is also looking after our Waiheke Island commercial properties, ably supported by our Waiheke Receptionists Marie and Kate.
Marc is a highly professional Property Manager with over 15 years of international experience in the real estate industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Financial Certificate, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business, and two property certificates, showcasing his commitment to excellence and continuous professional development.
