apm belongs to two Body Corporate industry bodies. We think it is important to have membership of organisations that are creating change or providing a level of professionalism to the body corporate management industry.

Our Strata Community Association (SCA)(NZ) membership allows apm to participate on the Executive Committee of that organisation. During the past 12 months, via the committee we have contributed to SCA:

• lobbying the NZ Government,
• advocating nationally for affordable and available insurance,
• developing new content for their Certificate IV Strata Community Management, and
• developing a taskforce for Electric Vehicles.

We are also a member of the Body Corporate Chairs Group (BCCG) which was established to provide information and support to chairpersons and committees following the introduction of the Unit Titles Act 2010.

BCCG members make for better and more informed chairs and hence more effective committees for managers to look after through enhancing the skills and knowledge of what it takes to be a chairperson or a committee member for a body corporate. Both of these membership organisations can have bodies corporate become members. We encourage our chairs and committee members to consider joining both the BCCG and the SCA.
